We have great facilities at Kielder - not only is it a fantastic setting with a vast expanse of water with plenty to explore but we have a cosy clubhouse, free camping and a reasonably sized boatpark.
The clubhouse is a log cabin with large windows overlooking Kielder Water. We have a large main room with a wood burner and small bar, a training room with storage shelves and large fridge for members' use. A small galley with microwaves, induction hob, kettle, fridge, storage cupboards, pans, crockery, mugs, cutlery and glasses. A larger fully equipped main galley for catering on club race days and events. Ladies, Gents and disabled changing rooms with showers and toilets. A small race office. A small 'dry room' with books, DVDs and some children's games.
Members and their guests can camp on the grassed area around the clubhouse and on a small area of grass beyond the hoist in the boatpark. Up to 5 motorhomes or caravans can also be used overnight provided they are occupied. There are no electric hook ups, waste water or toilet emtying facilities and virtually no parking place is level. There is no charge for staying overnight.
Members may leave their boats in the club boatpark in a space allocated annually by the Committee member responsible for the boatpark. All boats in the boatpark must display a current year sticker issued by Northumbrian Water on payment of a boat registration fee which is due in April each year. A plan of the boatpark with boat types and owners is displayed in the clubhouse and can be found in the Members' Area of this website.
The foreshore area is generally available for parking depending on the level of the water, however priority is given to boats for launching so at busy times members are asked to park in the marked parking bays in the boatpark area or in their boatpark space. Please take care to leave plenty of room for other members to access their boats and spaces.
