We are delighted that we have at last been successful in our bid to the Small Grants Fund of the Sports Lottery for £10,000 of funding to contribute to the club's own funds to buy 6 Hartley 12 sailing dinghies to increase participation in sailing. Our very grateful thanks must go to Richard Hartley of Hartley Boats, not only for specifying and building such a versatile boat, but for loaning us 4 Hartley 12s last year to enable us to thoroghly test them at Kielder. In addition Richard stuck with us after our first application failed and allowed us to continue to borrow the boats for the rest of the season. What a fantastic chap he is and we are 'over the moon' that we can now, not only pay him for the 4, but order another 2!
Members of the training team will be on hand most weekends throughout the season to introduce members and potential members to these great boats. Whether you are a complete beginner or a seasoned sailor, these great boats have something to offer you. Come along too and join in our Team Racing, it's great fun and everyone can join in whatever your age or level of sailing experience. Contact Julie for further details.

This weekend the 26th and 27th November will see much activity at the club as we give the clubhouse, grounds and club boats a good clean up and recover the racing marks from around the lake.
All members are warmly encouraged to come and help out. You are welcome to arrive and leave at whatever time suits them. We have a list of jobs and many hands will make light work and a sociable time too! Feel free to bring any tools or equipment that you think might make things easier.
Have you won a prize this year? Then you need to be here.
Are you helping at the working party? Then you need to be here.
Have you enjoyed sampling the excellent beer from the bar this year? Then you need to be here.
Have you fallen in this year? Then you need to be here.
Has your boat not even touched the water this year? You still need to be here!
Are you getting the message? It's the must-attend, highly anticipated, best night of the year - the KWSC final prizegiving and social!
So pop on your party frock and come and join us at the clubhouse to celebrate the years successes!
The bar will be open, and we only ask that you bring something to 'share' food-wise - a sweet dish if your birthday falls on an odd number, a savoury if it falls on an even! This just makes sure we don't all bring pineapple hedgehogs......
We would love to see you there!
