Kielder Water Sailing Club

Members can sail at Kielder during daylight hours all year around. Members are asked to consider the weather conditions and forecast, their own and their crew's sailing experience and the condition of the boat they plan to sail, before going afloat. In addition there is a board on the clubhouse door and members are asked to write their details on it before they go on the water and to rub them off on their return.

There are no rescue services on Kielder.

Patrol cover is only provided for club organised activities.

Sailors are asked not to sail closer to the valve tower and dam than the white diamond marks located on the north and south shores. Other areas where no sailing is requested are the water ski areas and amongst the yacht moorings.

You can land anywhere along the shoreline where you find it suitable (watch out for rocks and tree stumps) but please do not use the Northumbrian Water Ferry jetties.

Full details are given to new members during their induction session.
