Don't forget that the Commodore will be providing a mid-season briefing to the membership after racing on Sunday 18th May. This is a new initiative outside of the AGM to give the members an opportunity to ask question of the Committee and find out what we are doing on your behalf. I look forward to seeing you all there.
The results of the annual survey of members is now available - many thanks to all of those who took the tme and trouble to complete and return the survey - it is much appreciated.

The Youth Council was elected on Sunday 20th April 2008

The map of the lake marks has now been reinstated on the site.

The results from the 2008 Windward/Leeward event are now available on the site. This was a Scottish Skiff Racing Grand Prix and Chreub Event

Young Sailors Council Elections
Please see the link for news of our latest development for Young Sailors - a Young Sailors Council. Elections are to be held on Sunday 20th April. Nomination forms are available via the link or at the clubhouse.
The new programme and rota is now uploaded to Dutyman on our web site. You can access it from "What's On/Duty Swaps" on the top menus or "Duty Swaps" down the left hand menu items or from here. Obviously use it to swap any duties you wish. If you find any factual errors in details or personal details please let me know and I will correct them as soon as I can.
Please note that the Dutyman site is moving ISP at 1200 on Tues 18th March and the site will be unavaiable for 2 hours. It may also be difficult to reach for a further 24 hours. Revisit it later if that is the case.
Many thanks, Steve
You can now change your personal details for our member database on line. This helps us keep in touch with you - particularly by email. Please do help us by keeping your details up to date. Many thanks.
News of 2 forthcoming social events - the Start of Season Social and the Away Cruise.
You will find all the latest Social News on the Social Page (naturally!).
Would you like to contribute to this site? Provide an article? Some pictures perhaps? Apart from this - which I would most welcome - is anyone interested in providing a customised Google Map and Google Earth view of the club and its environs - showing pubs, bed and breakfasts, camping etc etc? If you think you can contribute please contact Steve Gibbon - many thanks.
Would you like to congratulate the following in successfully passing Level 2 Power Boat in pre season training: Kirsty McAlpine; Debby Watt; Peter Rowe; Brian Coates; Nicky Coates; Frank Stewart; Peter Hawkin; Ruth Hawkin; Jenny Ludman; Peter Crompton & Joanne Clifford. Well done everyone.
Our new site is still partially in development please bear wth us if some of the content is not yet finished. Your views on how you want to see the KWSC website are important. Use the contact form to provide some feedback to me and I will see if I can incorporate any popular or useful suggestions.
Picture an inviting large freshwater lake set in a beautiful wide wooded valley. As you sail fish jump from the water, which lies between two dams seven miles apart, birds call from the trees and shooting stars fly across the black night sky. Nestling in the North Tyne Valley is the delight that is Kielder Water and of course, the Sailing Club.
Every Sunday March to December we have a very active and varied handicap racing programme. All are welcome -whatever the level of skill, experience or type of boat. Come and join in and have fun.
Can't sail or need to learn some new skills? We are an RYA Trainng Centre and run a full range of dinghy sailing courses from complete beginner onwards and also Powerboat course. Children and adults are welcome in our family friendly environment. You can find out more here and also read what previous course attendees think.

Don't want to race? No problem. Our lake is 7 miles long with side creeks to explore. Simply come for a potter or join one of our monthly organised cruises.
I intend three phases for the development of the site (what you are seeing now is Phase 1):
In Phase 2 of the site's development, if there is interest, I will add the ability to change the way you view this site. Here alternative designs will be available (with exactly the same infrmation) which allows you to look at the site in a way of your choosing (not mine). In addition I may provide the ability to change colour of text, backgrounds and change the fonts. This will be added later after the initial launch in March - if there is interest. The member's area will be added with a simple password access - obviously for club member's only. I have not decided what might be available here but it could include things like our constitutin and byelwas, committee meeting minutes etc What do you think?
In Phase 3 - well who knows what his may bring - any suggestions welcome.
You buy up to date gear, keep your boat in good repair and sail to the latest version of the racing rules. You should do exactly the same with your browser - keep it up to date. Older Browsers have bgs and may not take advantage of all the features of a modern web site. They are also slower. Take this opportunity to update your browser or even change to a better one!. The two most popular browsers are Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Internet Explorer. You should be using Firefox Version 2 or Internet Explorer Version 7. The links will take you to the latest downloads. If you have not used Firefox before I recommend it - it is a fully standards compliant browser.
Well behaved dogs are welcome at Kielder.

Peace, tranquility, cosy club house, cruise, camp and the adrenalin of racing - the choices are yours.
... and in addition simply enjoy the local walks, mountain bike tracks, woodlands, rivers and fells.
We recommend using the Firefox Version 2 Browser to view this site - it is fully standards compliant and up to date as well as easy to use. Download it now and try it!
